All of our chainsaws run off a vegetable oil mix to reduce the amount of fumes and toxins being released around the plants we work in everyday. Our company has begun the building of a Bio-fuel processing system that will not only allow all of our trucks and equipment to run on a more eco-friendly fuel, but will also reduce our diesel consumption by 40%.	Even though Northern Arboriculture owns a fleet of fuel-efficient trucks we try to reduce the amount of time our work trucks are running to minimize the amount of fuel being consumed. The use of GPS technology allows us to find the fastest and most efficient route to our destinations, thus minimizing our time spent on the road and ultimately reducing fuel consumption.	All the wood collected from our job sites is recycled through the company. This involves, being chipped into mulch, stored for firewood or milled as lumber. This process allows all of our plant material to complete a full circle of use. Our company uses recycled products whenever possible.

At Northern Arboriculture, we use organic fertilizers and integrated pest management practices to help control insect damage. For weed control, we use wood chips and recycled cardboard, which is a form of sheet mulching. The process of sheet mulching can help produce healthier planting soils, where poor soils may exist.	Our trucks are modified to be as fuel efficient as possible but we still go the extra effort to turn off any equipment if it is not in use. This creates a quieter work setting and allows for easier communication between our staff. Finding ways to limit the running time of our equipment helps to keep our costs down, the neighborhood quieter, and helps the environment.	Northern Arboriculture’s crew is gradually changing over to electric, rechargeable chainsaws and we hope to have only electric chainsaws in the near future. Our use of electrical chainsaws means we are burning less fossil fuel and therefore, releasing fewer fumes into the environment. Plus for you as a client our electric chainsaws mean a quieter work environment when our crew is at your property.
